I know many businesses don't take international credit card.  Do they take PayPal payment?

Some do, but not the original Pay Pal from abroad, but a "Chinese version" which is based in Hong Kong I beleive, and you must become a member there and set up an account with them like back home.

“Paypal China” and “Paypal International” are separate and you can't use them interchangely. In China you can ONLY use “paypal china” which can ONLY be connected to a chinese bank account and in RMB.
You will have no problems paying using “Paypal international” on International sites. For inside china (ie on TaoBao) you can use the “alipay” connected to your chinese bank account.
Important note: Only login to paypal by typing the URL manually using "https". If you look close at some of those message and the links.. even when the text might say paypal, it's usually linked to some other domain or IP where they have build a site to look like paypal, then they collect your login and empty your bank account or go on a shopping spree.....
Warned man, counts for two!

Actually if you are using Ebay you have to create a paypal account. Also I have bought many things from people from china and they had to create a paypal account in order to sell or buy any items they either displayed or purchased in China. Hope that helps!
