Q: Do parents 'kick' their kids out of the house after college?
I know the more traditional generation does not, but for the modern Chinese family in Beijing or Shanghai, is it getting more common for parents to tell their kids to ship out at age 18 or after finishing college?

I am not aware of one case yet. In fact, they not only leave college after graduation, but get married, and still live at the groom's paternal home until they can get enough saved to afford a new apartment.
Usually not. It's not uncommon to see 30 or 40 year old people still living with their parents. Even if they're married and have kids, sometimes they still live in their parent's house. Most young people willingly leave the house on their own though. They want a little independence I guess.
Indeed what the above posters have written is quite true. There is no such phenomena here of parents tossing their children out on the street at age eighteen.
Remember, the safety net of the parents in their old age is their childern. If they do not for their children, or if the relationship with the children is vituperous, then that would endager the safety net.
Chinese society has remained exceptionally Confucian in this regard.
