I have seen many times small business owners pack up and run away when they see a cop. Does anybody know if you need a permit to sell or work on the streets in Beijing, China. I see two types of small business owners: the one's that run when they see something they don't like and the one's that stay and keep trying to sell.
Does anybody know if you need a permit to sell on the streets? If you do is it hard to get a permit and how much would it cost? Do the small business owners get to choose their space?
I know in America you have to have a permit plus you have to pay for the space that you occupy. Basically if the space is unavailable for you to sell you have to look elsewhere. What's the rule in Beijing China about selling on the streets?

Mattaya are you doing a survey about how much foreingers know about China, you ask silly questions all the time, you seem an intelligent person so why still be a fake foreigner
if they didnt need one, they wouldnt be running away now would they?
why do you keep writing Bijing, China in all your questions? you know. people on this site know where beijing is.
Mattaya, you have the most boring questions.
And rich is right, we all know where beijing is. you dont need to write china all the time beside it.
They probably need one according to the law, but the law isn't enforced. The cops coming around is just for show. The stands will be up and running again within the next day, no problem.
i know that streetfood guys actually need one, others i dont know, but obviously they run for a reason...

Especially when the chenguan show up. They make the Rodney King beating look like "getting off with just a warning".
