I can't find any information about it

If it's a small cat or dog, just shave it's face and dress it up like a baby, no one will ever notice. They just think ugly baby, poor you and leave you alone.
This is tricky.
Most trains don't allow pets, and all trains don't allow pets in the passenger compartments (supposedly, but go on a train with a "hard seat" and you'll find people travelling with chickens - these are the slow ass old trains though) Some trains have a cargo car where you CAN transport pets as long as they are in the right container.
The problem is finding a train that has a cargo car, as they run infrequently. Best thing to do is ask the station (or have a Chinese speaking friend do it). They'll let you know when and where (but these are often at night).
Depending on where you are going, some busses allow pets, so it might be an option.
Either way, don't be surprised if they charge you 100rmb+ for the cargo car or they charge you for an extra seat.
