Yesterday I was checking out the new office I'm going to have to go to. On my way there I saw around 30 to 40 people standing around an elderly guy who was laying on the road with a pool of blood around his head. I noticed only a lady that was talking and the rest were just staring at the poor guy. From what I was hearing it sounded like the lady was more worried about her car than the guy who was hit. I honestly thought the guy may have been severely injured that was obvious and it even looked like it could have been a fatal hit!
Do they even care when they hit someone? Why are the reactions like that whenever this happens? I would have thought there would have been a sense of urgency in this matter.
Good question buddy. I don't have an answer. I just wrote something to get points.
Scandinavian:
maybe posting crap for points should be limited to those of the wu mao persuasion.
however I cannot imagine that you are not commenting on the "new office I'm going to go to" part of the question, I mean, is "internet cafe" the same as "office" ?
Traveler:
LOL. Don't tell Saliva, but I don't really read her questions.
Actually yes, they do indeed care very much!
Fixing that pesky dent in your car is expensive!!!!
Life has no value in China. It's not just the reactions after an accident has happened.
Right outside my home is a road with a 40 km/h speed limit. The street has an elementary school, and everyday you will see cars racing at 100+ km/h past the schoolchildren when they are showing up for school or leaving. People are not trying to act safe around their fellow people, it is all "me me me, I want to get to my mistress 30 seconds earlier so she can see me smoke half a cigarette more than she did yesterday"
She was talking about him paying to fix her car, plus a payment for inconveniencing her by delaying her commute.
Chinese are lack of values and ethics!. Last year I also went to HArbin and in the high way I saw an accident, one guy was bleeding and no one stopped. My last boss realized of it and not even talked about it. The question is, will anyone help me if something happens to me in China?, really scary!!!
You would think she would have to care. Hitting someone with a car can be a serious matter. For this reason I bought extra insurance that will pay 100% of any compensation, and there will be compensation if its a pedestrian or non-gas powered vehicle. However, if you hit a kill someone, jail time could be a possibility.
The guy was probably walking in the middle of the road, but nonetheless the woman will probably be blamed.
