HugAPanda:
LOL I dont know... Ive only ever heard of pigs, chicken and yak.
Xpat.John:
Oh! You are talking about farm animals... In that case, yeah, they raise them here. But pork & beef are far more common.
HugAPanda:
LMAO... I was... but I got curious because my best friend just moved to NZ in Jan, and I asked him if the sheep were running scared yet (he's from Scotland). He's coming to visit me for a few weeks while Im in Chengdu, I thought I'd better investigate the sheep situation for him.. I wouldn't want him to get blue balls
Update: I told him not to worry.. sheep are available. He hung up on me!! (I win this round)China is the land of every kind of meat. Nothing is spared, so I'm pretty sure that sheep is in there somewhere, especially when you see it on a few menus. I had it in some Korean-style food.
There are lots of sheep out here in Xinjiang, lamb is the staple meat.
What a dumb question! Have you ever seen the shows where they talk about the farmers and countryside people? Heck if you go ride on the road from BJ to Tianjin you will see multiple sheep herders walking along those fields.
HugAPanda:
Priceless. I'm honored you, of all people, consider this a dumb question. Coming from the Prince of Ignorance, I feel like I've won a grammy :)
Now, I know you know I haven't been to your (notice proper use of your) home country yet. I am still in the country you wish was your home.
I heard you are hoping to join the Chinese navy when you have finished your mandatory wumao career. And something with technical school? Perhaps you can aspire to be one of those clothes hanger/ear cleaner guys that run around the park. I hear it's a respectable job. :)
TedDBayer:
On behave of eChina answers I would like to present you with this award , for an outstanding achievement in the art of asking dumber questions than our regular dummie. This award recognizes your years on practice and patience on your part to achieve this level. I know this award looks like an empty beer bottle, but this is a symbol all of us recognize as a great part of Chinese culture.
