Q: Do they sell solid honey here that is white? Not the processed type!

I was watching an episode of DD dragons den and an austrian came on the show and he wanted to get an investment for his honey. Not sure how far he got with the honey. Do they have the solid kind for sale anywhere in China?

Hi matty. answer for the big #1 of 3 questions for the day:

Solid honey is crystallizing. Honey is a highly concentrated sugar solution. The crystallization of honey is similar to the process used to make rock candy in school!

Different honeys will crystallize at different rates. It is believed that this is dependent upon the ratio of the different sugars found in honey, as well as the temperature at which the honey is stored at. The best honeys stay liquid the longest. Liquid honey in China does go solid after sitting. It is easier to put in tea.

:

That's interesting Ted. I didn't know the best honeys stay liquid as longer than others. I consume honey a lot as I avoid as much as I can the sugar. Do you think honey in China is trustworthy? How can I know that the honey I buy is natural and not mixed with some syrup?

TedDBayer:

Honey is sugar basically. In China what is trustworthy. I think if honey is cut with something, you would taste it, if anything water (cheapest) might be used.
