They do carry real guns and its not for show. If you find some articles in Chinese papers you will see some stories of the security guards using them.

They're fake. FACT! I was actually present during an attempted robbery and when the guards started shooting, nothing but water came out. Every one of them was killed. What a sight.

not only shotguns. I noticed also automatic weapons.
not QBZ, but smaller, size of UZI or MP5

and I would say that it is real, and some of this folks really knows how to handle it, and then (i suppose) to use it if necessary.

seems that they are after more then only regular military training.

I wouldn't like to be the one that makes them "suspicious" on the duty

I turn-off my camera in very few situations, but bank convoy during "off-the-car operation" is one of them....

Yeh, don't take any notice of these guys, they don't know. Those guns are all completely fake, i'm telling you. They're made of liquorice. The guards have to keep them in a cooler in the van otherwise they go soft in the sun and wilt, it's embarrassing.

Guns are real, and there were killing events as reported in the media. So never kidding yourself to test it.

Gosh bigass,

I hope that the guns are real. Just imagine some knucklehead trying to rob a bank. The security guard pulls out his gun..yells "Stop!"..and the bad guy notices clearly that the guard's gun is not real! lol lol  ^^.

The ones that I have seen carry Benelli M3 12 guage shotguns and German VP-70Z 9mm machine guns.  They also have a tear gas grenade launcher inside the truck.

Of course, they also use an encrypted radio system, tracking systems, solid tires, several layers of ballistic and anti-explosive armor and glass that can withstand up to a standard .50 caliber rifle round.

The front cabin is completely isolated from the back cabin.  And the back doors can only be opened from the outside by a special key which is wirelessly linked to the armored car company.  So if it is opened at an unscheduled time or location, alarms are automatically set off.

At any given time there are approximately a dozen empty/trojan armored trucks driving around making fake stops to help throw would-be thieves off.

Of course, I could be wrong about all of this or could be completely making it up.  :)
