Q: Do u have to be issued another Z visa in HK. If u are moving to work in a different firm here?

If not, then how come I've got a school that insists me to go back to HK to do the whole process all over again? Weird isn't it?

Most people dont actually know the visa process. Its changing all the time. Everyone has different information. I didnt need to leave. I dont know the terminology but there is like a visa transfer. My old company needed info from my new company and then .... I dont know but i got a new visa and didnt go anywhere.

There is no need to leave China to get another Z visa. If you currently hold an FEC or Alien Employment Licence (work permit) & a valid Residency visa then you just need to get a release letter from your current company and your new employer will be able to transfer your work permit/FEC/Residency visa over to your new job. Tell your potential new employers to contact the local SAFEA office to find out what is needed.

(I believe what I've written is correct, hopefully if there is anything not quite right or I've missed something then someone else on here will correct me)
