You know that little voice in the back of your head that tells you to do things.... well, he is kind of like that... except he also coughs up hairballs. 

I think the cat is perfectly accessible as it is, I can't remember seeing a relevent question addressed to him (I assume, him) that he hasn't promptly answered.

Whomever he/she is, one thing was made very clear.  This site is made and exist for all of us to use it.  BUT, it is not ours to do as we please, so there are a few rules to follow.  Follow them and he/she will allow you to have fun.  Break a rule and you will get deleted, or suspended for a few days.  He/she stays in the background, does not participate much, like other moderators I do know.  He/she is here to keep the waters calm, not to stir up shit.

So, as long as he/she does that, and calls himself/herself  CAT, I could not care less if his name is John, Larry, Tom or any other one, male or female.

No, we do not have any right to know the Cats real identity anymore than we have the right to know your identity.

I think if this had volunteer user moderators, then yes we would deserve to know. However, there isn't. I infer you mean not the real identity but the username of the moderator. That would be 'Adminanswers' (I think), and he is in fact the site Admin.
