I saw an epidsode of the antiques road show one night. The person came to China and bought something at the market for like 20 kuai. It ended up being part of China's history and the piece belonged to one of the emperor's. I think it's estimated worth was above 100, 000 thousand dollars.
Things like this have happened for several times,i read news like this as well years ago.Lots of people, especially those living in the countryside have old things passed down from their ancestors, many of these are antiques, who knows how much they really worth.A majority of the owners don't know the value of their possessions and some sell the antiques at quite a cheap price to make some money. And then, these things are sold to the others at a higher price,on and on,till they are found at last by those who know their true value.
