I drink it. Mostly just in my coffee because I don't like the taste of boiled water but I have, and still do sometimes.

Boiling the water doesn't keep the heavy metals away. 

I do, and have been for years.  Lots of it.  Gallons.  Is there a danger?

I drink boiled tap waters for years. It's been fine, two health checks with blood samples said I was fine too.

Boiling does not remove heavy metals nor dioxins - only kills the harmful bacteria. Also too much Chlorine and fluoride is used in China city water plants. Smell a glass of tap water and then a glass of bottled water.

No, for the reasons mentioned above. The bacteria is the least of your worries with Chinese tap water.

I always just assumed the bottled water we buy comes from the same place but is filtered and treated and still full of heavy metals and whatever else has leached into the water supply.

Boiling tap water kills most germs and other bacteria but the heavy metals rejected from the nearby factories are still here.

I drink boiled tap water (mainly for tea) as well as bottled water. Because of all the scandals I am not really sure what the difference is anymore. We are probably getting some heavy metals with the water but my health seems to be fine.

I must boil water from the bottle in order to brew hong cha. Fujian hong cha, the best cha so far in China.

For me, I used to drink it when I was first in China. When I noticed how much metallic residue was left on the bottom of the electric kettle, I started to drink only filtered water. Now, I used a filter at home exclusively, for everything, and only drink boiled water when I don't have a choice, like at work, when they only have the big plastic bottles of boiled water to drink (even then, I prefer to bring filtered water).
