Q: Do you drink warm water?

Whenever you are sick, or even on a normal day when you wake up, people here suggest drinking warm water. I could understand if you have a sore throat, maybe mix in some honey, it might do something for you. But honestly I think warm water doesn't do anything, other than leave you feeling a little warmer. Your body will change the temperature after you ingest it anyway, just like cold water. The only drinks I like warm are hot chocolate and tea; everything else I prefer at room temperature, or chilled without ice. Does anybody here actually drink warm water?

Do I drink it? Yes. Do I prefer it? No
It's like the beer, unless you specifically ask for it or you're in a place used to Westerners, they will bring you warm beer.

They see drink cold all the time is bad for the health. Just like staying in front of the AC. The idea of sweating is supposed to remove bad stuff out of your system.

I got used to it.

Pour a cup of hot water before you go to bed and drink it in the morning works wonders.

In fact cold water takes longer to hydrate you as the body finds it easier to get warm/hot water to body temperature.

MrTibbles:

Not true. Optimal temperature for digesting/absorbing anything is body temperature (37C / 98.6 F). Hot stuff needs to cool, cold stuff needs to warm up. Water at the temperature of 15-22C / 59-72F is absorbed FASTER by the body, simply because cold fluids SINK IN WARM FLUIDS and therefore - tada - reach the intestines faster. The will still be warmed up, but since 95% of everything you put into your body is absorbed in the intestines (the stomach primarily breaks down food into form that the intestines can use), whatever gets there first is the first thing that gets worked on. Check out any REPUTABLE website (especially on sports medicine) and you can verify this. Avoid any site that contains "new age health", "TCM", or "PawPaw's Health Secrets". Now, drinking hot water when you're cold can help keep your body temperature regulated, so it's ok as well, but it does not get absorbed faster. Drinking water at any temperature (within reason - boiling water is a bad idea) is just fine for the body.

I can drink it but I prefer cold. Getting more used to it now anf if offered I will drink it as it doesn't make much difference. As for beer, well I dont think I'll ever adapt to it not being cold.

Yes, I drink it filtered through ground coffee beans. Laughing out loud
Warm beer is an oxymoron.
