I've had colleagues who buy books, candy and other things for their students when they go abroad and come back. Have you ever done this? And what's the point?

I would bring sweets with me from home. it is a great way to break the ice with a new class, especially with younger students.
I had hundreds of stickers from Australia. Really neat designs and stuff. Kids went gaga over them. I did tear the label off the packet though: "Made in China" it said.
This year I took a box of Fury friends Chocolate over for my sister In-laws class
the chocolate bars are only small but they have pictures of Australian Animals on the wrappers and are made in Australia . Why did I do it ? Because the kids love it when I talk to them and pay attention to what I have to say and I know I leave good will with them. The box of Chocolate $30 AUD the feeling of the appreciation from the Kids Price Less!
