,,,do you get flu shots?
This is the second time my GF has been very sick with what she calls a cold, but she complains that her whole body hurts. I think this is flu. I hardly ever get colds except in summer. I've had the flu along time ago.

I don't think I have the flu, but then again, maybe I don't know exactly what the flu should feel like. I've been sick for several weeks now, I think I might also have a slight fever the last few days. I have never gotten more colds in my life. This is the second or third since I moved here. I've never gotten a flu shot and I don't plan to.
Yes you do seem to get colds that last for weeks or ailments
The common cold (also known as nasopharyngitis, rhinopharyngitis, acute coryza, or a cold) is a viral infectious disease of the upper respiratory system which affects primarily the nose. Symptoms include a cough, sore throat, runny nose, and fever which usually resolve in seven to ten days, with some symptoms lasting up to three weeks. There thousands of different infection that can cause so no matter where you go you can get.
I got one really bad cold over winter that I just couldn't shake off. It lasted two odd weeks just before the spring festival break and the only thing that fixed it eventually was four days in bed. I'm actually surprised I haven't had more, the kids I teach are constantly coughing and sneezing all over me.
I've been here a week, I watched weather in Guilin from home and it's totally wrong, weather says milder with rain everyday. it's rained once, it fricken freezin and i left my winter coat at home. I don't get colds at home. I haven't had one in 3 years. Last night I felt really strange, so went home to bed, woke up with sore throat, back and runny nose.
One week in China and I'm almost set to go home cause its too cold, no heat most places.
You need to layer up! Go buy some longjohns, warm underwear...whatever you want to call them. And of course, go buy a frikkin heavy coat already. These items are not that expensive here. Also, start drinking hot water. Basically....do the same things as the Chinese do to cope with the cold temps.
