How many of you here have an ayi? We get one once a week and it's more than enough. But I know some people take issue with it.
We are *forced* to have an ayi ^^ We rent a flat in a short-term rental location place, and the rent includes a bi-mensual visit by a commando of 3 ayis. It's part of the package, can't change it, rent is cheap and location is good, so well, fine with the ayi shock commando. We do the daily cleaning/laundry/cooking ourselves.
Nope, but wife and mother in law frequently suggests it. I personally think we're all crap if we cannot take care of ourselves and need to rely on cheap labor.
Sometimes, the landlord insists on ayis because they want to keep an eye on the apartment. Probably they are too afraid that some illegal stuff may happen in their apartment. Unfortunately, the cost of the ayi is counted in the rental.
I do, I split time between 2 cities for business and she takes care of my dog when I travel, keeps the house tidy, and irons my shirts.
I come from a country where we all have ayis (or maids as we call them). I think it's job creation. I also think that the minimum wage is too low so always try pay them a bit more. If they weren't being ayis what would they be doing? I also grew up with ayis as part time babysitters and they were always like a second mother/part of the family to me.
No, but I need one.
Other option I see is to disconnect electricity, and clean my big mansion.
Woman cleans place daily, I do it monthly, if.....no Internet and teli.
With 5 people and a cat in our house we have one and LOVE HER. She is also a total gossip, so we hear all about her other clients and their many indiscretions which is pretty fun.
Had one for 3 years, now my kids old enough to stay home. Ayi's were cool, no issues.
The wife has loads of unpaid aunties. They take the baby at an instant if asked .
Get yourself a MIL. they are loads cheaper.
But..... I was talking to a western friend last week who recently got married to a Chinese national.... and his MIL is now demanding an Ipad mini.
