Q: Do you have an insurance for your apartment?

Recently moved to new apartment and learned that there is actually no insurance cover, so I was wondering if you guys paid extra for an insurance or if you live without one.

Since the apartment is rented, you really do not need insurance except for the contents.  Yes I do, and to my surprise, it is very inexpensive, I pay less than 500 Rmb per year for it, and I got replacement cost.
Since I do travel a lot, it gives me peace of mind when I am away.  I have no worries about thieves visiting me.

You were lucky. I was robbed around this time last year. Both the police and the insureance claimed it was my fault for, get this, keeping things like cameras and laptops in my home!
