Q: Do you have supermarket singers in your country??

8 years here and this country is still endlessly amusing. We have a new supermarket grand-opening downstairs. Its a decent name i think but because of the location im not sure how usefull it will be. Havent checked it out yet.

Anyways, they have an actual singer, all night. And in between his verses he talks about the store. Its brilliant.

Did you know I looooove youuuu

Fish oil is half off!

Youll be mine fooooreeeeever!

Buy 1KG of apples get one free!

Ni shi wo de song de xiao ping guo!

Makes me happy. Is this a chinese thing? An asian thing?? Anyone ever seen this back home??

I dont recall a Canadian supermarket even having a grand opening. Its just appears.

I am honestly stunned at that. Amazing. Only in China.

We went to an opening event last night too.  A nightclub local to us.  All the beer was free. Yup, free.  If they done that in the UK there would not be enough beer in the country.

ScotsAlan:

I should add, as it was a new nightclub (well, a new venture in an existing building), I was looking around for visible fire exits.  We were on the third floor of a building and I could see only 2 signed exits, both narrow doors that actually did not go anywhere, they just led to the KTV rooms.  I estimated there was about 2000 people this room and after a quick risk assessment I left with the wife.
