Q: Do you know of any chinese proverb that did strike you ?
One of the first chinese proverbs that did have a resonance with me was '人山人海‘, I was then crossing Beijing Road in Guangzhou and my friend used pinyin to describe this amazing moving human mass as 'people mountain people sea'.
Do you have some more to share with us ?

"Frog at the bottom of the well"
"The idiom the frog at the bottom of the well (or "look at the sky from the bottom of a well), means to have a narrow view of the world, to have only superficial knowledge of something, or to be short-sighted."
It's from a story about a frog who meets a turtle, then philosophy ensues.
I just loved it the moment I heard it, although I've never figured out how to use it in a sentence.
"Black cat/white cat"
It first struck me because I admired its pragmatism.
"Open one eye and close the other"
Because its just so key to understanding the way things work here.
