Q: Do you know Chinese vegetables names ?

I took aroung in vegetables marketing in Shanghai near Xintiandi, The name is Madang vegetables markting and i found many things there but i can not speak their names. I didn't eat many of them, if you know the names of Chinese vegetables,please let me know!

I know most of the ones I need to ever buy. You can use Google Translate to look up their names.

1. Bamboo shoots - 竹笋 - zhú sǔn

2. Bitter Melon - 苦瓜 - kǔ guā

3. Bok Choy - 小青菜 - xiǎo qīng cài

4. Chinese Broccoli - 空心菜 - kōng xīn cài

Why can't you say their names?  It would appear from your question that you're Chinese. If you don't know what they are, just ask the guy/gal selling them.

When you go to the store ask ZHege Shenme ya? And have them tell you directly what it is it works everytime......

A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
