I knew an guy in Hunan who went stark raving mad. He was a heavy baiju drinker with xenophobic problems. He totally came apart one evening, destroyed part of his bootleg DVD operation, then went home and beat his wife, trashing the room where he lived, and punched a few foreingers on the way to the KTV to pick up his mistress. He was caught and sent for re-education in two days. Have you seen a local have a complete psychotic meltdown here?
Satire. Plain and simple.
Only the ones I ask out on a date...
GuilinRaf:
You have no idea! In fact, the American Society for Psychiatry just voted me as MVP of the year!
true story. i went on a date with a girl that dint speak engl and i cant speak chinese. she spent the entire evening talking to herself, occasionally signalling me . at the end of the night i walked her to the bus stop and never heard from her again.
Giad, isn't that an entry ripped from the journal of many locals?
giadrosich:
Yep. That was the intent. Satire, as stated on the bottom of the description.
HugAPanda:
@Giad... satire back atcha! @Raf - I hid it... down my shirt... wink wink nudge nudge
HugAPanda:
Nooo I'm sweet and innocent and quiet and shy! I would never take your skirt!
not personally , thank goodness, but i heard from a student of mine, that another student from our school got stabbed to death by her mother
I actually met a university grad who tried to kill himself because his GF's father wouldn't let him marry his daughter unless he first owned a house, car, and got a job with an SOE! That's like telling an American, you can't marry my daughter until you win the Powerball Lottery. It was really sad because this couple was madly in love and together for 3 years. The worse part is after they pumped his stomach at the hospital he was officially "classified" as " mentally unstable" (that what they do to folks who attempt suicide or assault people in China) and that disqualifies him for marriage.
Yes I know someone who had a breakdown, due to a drugs problem, but also because he grew up in China (although he isn't Chinese), and then had to go abroad for his studies, where he went through a lot of shit (due to him being used to China's safety, he didn't know he had to be careful, plus the cultural clash).
He recovered, and is now fine and dandy but back then, he was so messed up. He couldn't tell reality from dream at some points. He just wasn't the friend I used to know anymore.
