Q: Do you read the e-china news?

I don't follow the news anywhere (the Iraq war was over about six months before I found out), mostly because it depresses the Hell out of me and makes me realize how helpless I am to change anything and am stuck on this backwards planet like a mArtiAn, but I do cast an eye towards the bits of local gossip on this site as I make my way to the forum, and I want to ask those of you who may be in the know; is this new trend for growing body parts in odd places on the human body a purely Chinese thing or is it a more global practice within the medical community? There's the guy with the nose on his forehead and the woman with the face growing on her back; it's like something dreamt up by Salvador Dali.

There were also two other stories this week that caught my eye; one about a bloke who 'accidently' fell and got the handle of a rake stuck up his arse, and the woman who 'accidently' got in the wrong bed on her wedding night and shagged the best man. Is it just me or do you get the impression that the e-china journalists are falling short in their research, because I can't help thinking there's more to these stories.

And lastly, what about this fella 'Ma' who told the police when he found six million yuan under his mattress? Was that 'really' the way to go or would you have done differently, because my guess is he's now kicking his own arse for opening his mouth?

fairly, the news here are usually at least 1 day delayed from Shanghaiist or other webs. so and, the "news"quality ? just the bad news. is not that way ? it is.

It is a bulvar here, nothing else.

I'm just worried that the only news stories you read are the ones I read.  Drink to that wink.

Well I obviously read them and leave smart-arsed comments. However, there are quite a few news websites that show us that China doesn't have a monopoly on the weird and the wonderful. There is some strange shit happening all around the world and it seems no country is immune to harboring individuals who have questionable genes and shoe-size IQ's.

Nevertheless, it makes for interesting reading. Far more riveting than the wars, presidential elections in the U.S.A and ditto for elections in OZ. Let's not even mention the financial news with doom and gloom everywhere as a result of greed!!

AMEN!

When i start taking life too seriously, I like to read the echinanews to remind myself that life cannot be serious whatsoever and even on my worst days..that I have never had a rake handle stuck up my ass.
