Ok, this is one of those inane questions we ask on here from time to (all the) time, but it's one I wonder about as it seems to me the Chinese choose to do their showering in the evening whereas, as I understand it, westerners mostly shower in the morning. Is this correct, and if so, why? I'm guessing it's got something to do with morning temperatures and no central heating, but still, nippy or not I can't start the day fresh without one.
Has to be in the morning.
Wet hair in the bed at night- no thanks.

Get a haircut, shower before bed, and luxuriate in the freshness of it!

I'm fine, it's the missis that comes to bed with the wet hair and soaks the pillows...
I only shower once a week. I don't see the point. I wear strong anti-perspirant so I don't have much body odor. I rarely exercise so I don't work up much sweat. If I get sweaty from running or dancing or from a smoky-bar evening, I'll shower more. But on a normal workweek, I do a quick "bird bath" (light soapy washcloth and rinse) in the morning under my arms and back, nether regions, wash my face and go.
I also have really long hair so getting it wet is a pain in the ass and takes forever to deal with. It gets washed once a week only for sure.
If I anticipate sex or get a boyfriend, of course a more showering is required. There are some standards to maintain lol!
Don't Chinese not necessarily take a shower in the morningI was China my night at noon wash the morning was a bit cold
I do both. Both are a necessity. I can't go into the world without feeling fresh and clean. I also cannot sleep in my bed with the day's dirt and grime all over me. A clean bed is my Sanctuary lol. I have long hair as well, and I air-dry it hours before I go to bed so it's not super wet.
My sheets and bedding still get washed on a weekly basis at least, sometimes twice a week. Skin cells, sweat, etc will still make your bed dirty even of you shower every night, so washing the bedding on a weekly basis at least is still necessary.
If you use water in the morning, your water bill is little expensive.

Yeah, I can barely afford the 1 mao for 1000 litres that I pay now.
On WInter I will shower only at evening....
On summer can be evening only or both...
Sleeping without shower is un-acceptable with all the dirt you got from outside during the day....
In morning you still cleaned... so brush teeth and washed face will do....
That's is my opinion....
Morning

Not doing at night? I start worrying about my marriage life with my future white husband if he doesn't shower before go to bed while I am cleaned.

Straw...sometimes you make me believe as if you are an old, fat hairy dude having strong imagination to go that far....
I wash in the morning. Since coming to China, I have gotten in the habit of doing a quick hose-down in the evening, as well--just to get the grime off me. The reason I didn't do this in the US? The US is not filthy.
Shower in the evening just before bed. That way the bed stays clean.
Morning... Before bed a quick hand, leg and face wash with cold water does it for me... starting a day fresh is very important..
Evening.
If I shower in the morning I feel cold all day.
Strawberry66:
Seriously? Are you joking right? I feel so warm after a morning shower.
Once per week like most people in China...
In the evening, I can't imagine going to bed with dust or whatever pollutants on my skin. You don't see it but that doesn't mean it's not here.
Also antiperspirants are more efficient on clean skin and when applied in the evening, they have enough time to penetrate your skin and block the sweat glands.
I wash my face in the morning.
