Q: Do you like the skinny jean style?
Before coming to China, I thought that skinny jeans were merely popular, when in fact, they're the only style I've seen anyone wear. For some, it's quite flattering, but for others...not so much. What do you think? Do you love it or hate it?
Jnusb416, my mother used to say that from fashion trends you use those things that look good on you, and forget those that do not. Unfortunately, she spoke no Mandarin, so her message never reached China.
I see some Ladies with skinny jeans that take my breath away, in fact I have followed a few for blocks enjoying the obvious pleasant view. BUT, there are others that do not even deserve a first look.
Wait until summer time, and the same thing will happen to real short shorts and/or miniskirts. Some legs are very nice to the eye, but some should forget those items exist.

This is the exact reason why I hate peasant style shirts. They're only for women with no curves, and even then, maybe they don't look good. They were what was popular in America this fall, along with "sweaters" that simply draped with no buttons or zippers or anything. Needless to say, I didn't buy any.

Depends on the figure of the girl wearing them. Now, before ladies get up in arms, woud you want to see a fat, middle aged man wearing a muscle shirt? I didnt think so!

yes I like, I like a nice small derriere and what better way to show one, OK skirts work, shorts work, OK I confess I like a small derriere in anything, baggy pants, winter pants, I'm off topic ,, sorry,, yes i like skinny jeans on women, I'm old enough that I like a little room, tight jeans can cause injuries. oooo
Skinny jeans... Well as the saying goes, "If the shoe fits, wear it." Same with skinny jeans.
If they make you look like you have taken a dump in your pants, or that you have shoved two cantelopes into your back pockets, then they don't fit.
And if you can't walk without your thighs rubbing together, please for the sake of humanity, don't wear spandex micro skirts. Trust me, even bleach does not wash that image clean.
On asian women, it's usually flattering. On occidental women, sometimes it's perfect, but most of the time it's awful.
On dudes... ugh
They are disgusting and their creator, along with the creator of Uggs, should be pistol whipped until death.

Ok, I agree about the uggs. I have given in and bought boots, but they are black, have a thicker sole and a slight heel, so they are not as ugly. Without them, my toes probably would have broken off in Jinhua. I would probably never wear them in America. However, I have found that skinny jeans are the best kind to wear when using public bathrooms...just saying.
I wish this question were posted on a South African forum! It's either everyone's gone blind over there or they're just lying to each other! Skinny jeans are everywhere! (And African women are not known for "skinny" anythings, and the majority of us have no business wearing those things! It's not a flattering look at all on a bigger girl)
On Chinese girls they're okay, they're a no no on guys though (although i see a lot of guys wearing them in Shanghai! Chinese and otherwise!)
I don't like them on GUYS! I think it's silly when men wear them, including... rock stars, but I don't like skinny guys either.

i am african,not stick thin or even thin and i looooovveeee skinny jeans because they bring out all the right curves in all the right ways.and yes i do look hot in them.be honest wit urselves,to wear anythn skinny or skin huggn and look good,one must be curvy(not fat) with a hot derrier. if ur saying chinese guys shudnt wear them then neither shud the women because their behinds are basically alike. the taller chinese gals look good in them and they r usualy shaped better than the shorter ones
be careful, too skinny jean maybe hurt your health, especially for men.
