Q: Do you take revenge on people?
If you do take revenge on people, how do you do it?
One of my supervisors has been making a hell out of my work life recently because I always have a different opinion than his when discussing matters with our boss. The boss often listens to my opinion and it's really pisses my supervisor off. He's been a serious jerk to me lately. I got so upset one day that I used Kali (which is a penetration testing tool) to download some pictures and stuff from his phone and post adult advertisements for his wife online (only two websites). I know it's illegal to do this in the west, but using a vpn and being in China.. no one with any clout can do shit about it. He complains about it often now because I put his and her info online. People call him, add her qq, wechat, send lewd emails, etc.. In my mind it's deserved, so whatever. What do you do?

Very childish, I would say. Revenge will consume you, what goes around, comes around.
You are going native. Petty, competitive and vindicive. Before you know it, you'll be staring, pointing, laughing and gossiping about people, then going home to watch talent shows on TV. Spice up your life before you become an assimilated dullard. I dislike many of my colleagues, my boss threatened me, and I've been and seen people being treated unfairly at work. I tolerate it, or I'll quit if it gets too much. I've never taken 'revenge'. It's an imagined victory over a quasi-imagined sleight from an imagined enemy.
You have already gained the upper hand by having your boss listen more to you than him, why make matters a whole lot worse. What will happen next, he gets back at you for your revenge? It all sounds pretty childish to me.
If your coworker is Chinese, then you're screwed. First, he is Chinese. Second, he is your supervisor. Third, he is Chinese.

I just read the rest of your post which I didn't bother reading before. WTF, MAN? A person's family is off-limits. If he mistreated you, revenge is best taken on him. That's the Code of Hulk. That's the only semi-ethical way of taking revenge.
Now posting pictures of his WIFE to adult ads? That's going too far, and it's fucked up. I hope you go to jail. You should've just posted gay ads about HIM instead. I'm disappointed in you.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA, JOKE'S ON YOU! CHINA'S GOVERNMENT AUTO-MONITORS ALL PPTP CONNECTIONS... and stores the content! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OpenVPN doesn't work in China, and it's very unlikely that you had an encryption endpoint on his phone, so you're pretty much screwed!

Shall I explain it to you? Even if you had a secure VPN, just because you're using a VPN doesn't mean you're hidden. It still shows you CONNECTING to that VPN's IP address. Then all they need to do is get a list of who connected to what IP address that performed the haxoring, and they find your IP, which is registered to YOU, and then they come for you. It's stupid easy in a country like China or America. Your best bet is to leave China now, before they show up and throw you in the river with your hands tied behind your back, or in front if they're dumb.

Your question was "Do you take revenge on people?", as in habitual revenge seekers or persons who are generally spiteful. You received your answers. Since its not an admirable quality to be vengeful, I'm not surprised that you received negative answers. It's not a matter of people having no balls, but more a matter of you having little maturity.

I very rarely seek revenge, and most of the time I think it's a stupid, bad idea. You'd have to do something extremely fucked up to me or my family to warrant revenge. I mean extremely fucked up. And if I took revenge, it wouldn't be against that person's family.
What you're doing is petty, childish, and lame.
Yes, I get revenge on people. But you want to know the most pleasant form of revenge?
Beating your opponent at the game of life.
Get dumped by a girl? Find a more beautiful, success and intelligent one.
Get insulted by some douche? Make more money than him, get stronger than him and gain more respect than him.
You see, the people that usually go out on a limb to make other people's life worse are usually very insecure. If you lower yourself to their level, that is exactly what they want. They want to feel like they had some kind of control over you and your life. So if you smash their pride, it hurts a lot more than anything else ever could.
I think what you did was a little childish... his wife isn't to blame for making your life difficult. Just get promoted over this guy and that will burn him for a lifetime. A LIFETIME!
