Q: Do you talk/hang around with your students on campus after class?
I'm often followed when I leave the classroom by keen students who are keen to practice their English with me. However, as I'm usually pretty tired I end up just saying pleasantries until I go home. I'm wondering if any of you enjoy hanging out with your students after class?
I don't hang out with any of the students. Although, one of the students mother wanted me to hang out with her kid as part of the class. I never did. 
Silly question, no one will hang out with 99Sparkey. He has to pay them to come to class.

Me, unkind never. Sparkey says she is an American Enlish teacher, I don't believe her though. Why can't they just imitate Elvis? There is an chronic shortage of Elvis impersonators in China.
when i arrived first 2 years ago and wanted to look around the city and there were few other foreigners (and no map that i could find!), some of my more motivated students offered to act as local tour-guides.
it was a 'win-win' situation: i got local history and a rough guide to the main tourist attractions to the city as well as being shown around the city. The students got extra english practice.
Yes, often I do this. I also am part of a loosely organized English Conversation Club and often we meet after classes and just try to have a conversation about anything. This way the students actually get to use their knowledge of English. I want them to be better and know how to have a simple conversation. In turn it has improved their grades and that is what I am there for.
Well not all teachers work or live on a campus but sure, why not?
When I taught high school at a boarding school, the students (rich kids) invited teachers out after class on the last day of school and bought us beers. Its a funny experience coming from USA to having 16 year olds buy your drinks. Since then; I've taught at adult training centers, kids training centers, etc. I still hang out with students and/or their parents. It seems like the only polite thing to do when someone invites you out.
Sometimes when I was teaching university and in international companies' workplaces. Usually, though, I keep my work life and my social life completely separate.
