A multi-cultural Communist country?
Oh I can see it now, Americans, Japanese, Indians, Brazilians. Africans all part of the central Government together making the decisions.
hahah, i liked yian's answer. The answer is no. The bigger cities will have more influence from foreign countries as they grow and are importing foreign goods/businesses. And people will get more used to seeing foreigners.
But they still think they having a foreign friend is something to boast about. And they dont adapt to other cultures in the other countries they move to, so I dont see them allowing cultures to adapt here either
Question has me somewhat confused. According to one hell of a lot of Chinese there is only one culture, theirs. True they allow foreigners in, but they are really not cultured are they? With only one true culture in the world where does the multi bit come in.
And yes I am taking the piss.

There will always be "mainstream" and "minorities" for any country......Chinese people know their country's problems and challenges, they just can not do a thing about it, that is why more and more mid-class family immigrate to other countries or send their children to receive educations abroad......I agree with pogger34 "China is already multicultural" in the minds of the people's.....just give it some time....it is "People's republic" after all....
it is very difficult for whole china, but maybe come true in part of areas and cities. like HongKong and Macao.
China is multicultural, will they every embrace that fully and not try to not so subtly push the Han/majority agenda? Probably not, like another person said, they are already multicultural and like many other countries there will probably always be a minority and majority. But hopefully the tolerance and acceptance levels will grow as time goes by and more opening up occurs.
