The Huanan Seafood Market in the central city of Wuhan came under greater scrutiny on Wednesday as Chinese officials said that the virus which has so far killed nine people and infected hundreds may have originated in a wild animal sold at the food emporium.

Past deadly epidemics have been blamed on wild animals – Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) was linked to Chinese consumption of civet meat – setting Chinese authorities up for potential embarrassment if lax supervision of wildlife trafficking is found at fault in the latest outbreak.

A price list circulating on China’s internet for a business at the Wuhan market lists a menagerie of animals or animal-based products including live foxes, crocodiles, wolf puppies, giant salamanders, snakes, rats, peacocks, porcupines, camel meat and other game – 112 items in all.

“Freshly slaughtered, frozen and delivered to your door,” said the price list for the vendor, “Wild Game Animal Husbandry for the Masses.”

D-D-Go : "Is it safe to travel to USA considering gun violence?"

'Mental Floss'  thread from 2016 ...

https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/68276/25-unusual-foreign-travel-warn...

25 Foreign Travel Warnings for Visiting the U.S.

What do foreign tourists worry about when they visit the U.S.? Expensive emergency healthcare, overly sensitive attitudes towards nude sunbathing, and gross tap water, apparently. That's according to travel warnings for potential U.S. tourists from around the world. These government-issued advisories can seem like common sense for Americans, but they also reveal significant cultural differences between the U.S. and other countries.

1.  DON’T GET RIPPED OFF AT AN ORLANDO GAS STATION (UK)

2. TAKE CARE OF THE FLOWERS (CHINA)

The Chinese government suggests several common rules of etiquette for the U.S., including the following suggestion: “Take good care of flowers and trees, etc.”

4. DO NOT STALK ANYONE (GERMANY)

5. WATCH OUT FOR GUNS AT NIGHTTIME (CANADA)

6. STAY AWAY FROM THE EAST COAST (CHINA

The Chinese government says that the West Coast of the U.S. is safer than the East Coast: “Overall, the western United States is safer than the eastern portion, and a city is relatively safe during the day compared to at night.”

"... Oakland & Richmond in Bay area ... in particular."

7. REALLY, WATCH OUT FOR GUNS (GERMANY)

Seriously, foreign travelers get an earful about America’s love affair with firearms. Here’s what the German government says: “In the USA, it is comparatively easy to obtain possession of guns. If you are the victim of an armed attack, do not try to fight back!”

8. DOORS MIGHT BE CLOSED (RUSSIA)

9. DO NOT INSPIRE ROAD RAGE (CHINA)

11. DON'T PEE IN THE STREET (SWITZERLAND

13. TRY TO AVOID BEING NAKED (GERMANY)

" ... zeee germans ... "

15. DON’T CUT IN LINE (CHINA

" ... 'cause you might catch a bullet in the Super ..."

18. THE TAP WATER TASTES GROSS (AUSTRIA

19. THE AMERICAN DREAM ISN’T REAL (RUSSIA)

surprise

24. TAXI DRIVERS KNOW NOTHING (RUSSIA

angel

25. PAY YOUR TRAFFIC TICKETS (GERMANY)

United States is reporting already on the first person contaminated with the "mysterious" SARS-like Coronavirus -how imperial it sounds!-. They also call it "the mysterious virus" and it went from animal-to-humans and now from humans-to-humans.

Chinese people pride to spit everywhere. It is a cultural trait to show off and inconsiderately about anyone around, every one of them spits. That is why it went viral. There should be a sieze of consciousness coming from them and stop from travelling around the world, no matter the plans they had for their China New Year.

Coincidently, this virus it broke up from animals right by the time of the "Rat Year". It couldn't be any more symbolic than that since this is an animal of many evils, responsible, once, centuries ago of the Black Death, which had e-rat-icated Europe's population up to 200 million people. It originated, in China, along the Road silk around 1343.

Nah, it's a mere coincidence, and accidentally, an alignment of the planets. Or, just the way Chinese think to believe: "you're thinking too much."

Welcome to the Rat Year!

New York has 1000 cases now. Washington and California have also many cases. I think it won’t be safe to travel now and USA government blocked many foreigners to enter USA.so even you want to travel , it might not be possible for many foreigners.

@ Viki,

i don't think any European country, North America, Australia or NZ would allow you in.

Even the super-wealthy would have problems travelling to any of these counties now.

Europe is closed to any non-European for the next month.

Answer of the DayMORE >>
A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
