Being based on science and all, and pretty much banning rice and noodles.
Low carb high fiber? Low cholesterol high fiber? Low calorie high fiber? Carbs, cholesterol, and calories are more complicated than a simple blanket low consumption rule. Fiber is awesome.
Low Carbohydrate, High Fiber.
The rice and the noodles gives the clue as to the carbs.
It somewhat goes against another of those urban myths that the Chinese believe in. If you don't eat "main foods" with your meal, you will starve. The so called "main foods" all being carbohydrate based.
I can't really see this being popular in China!
Low carb, high fat diet such as Adkins or Paleo diets. I seriously doubt it will catch on here considering 2 staple items of the diet in Asia would be seriously off limits.
Low carb high fat makes more sense. Did that actually catch on in other places? I met a total of one person who actually did it.
I don't see enough obese or largely overweight people to have diets like this... Also the Chinese have their own ways of losing weight, like only eating "white" foods...
Do you think a country like China would stop eating rice or noodles? Would Italy would stop eating pasta? or would India stop eating curry? I don't think so....
There are however, quite a few Chinese men with "fat belly's", but this is a good thing for them. It tells their prospective wife that they can afford to eat well which means they must have money.. .
