Q: Do you think people should have to leave a reply for the reason why if they give you a thumbs down

Lately i have seen a lot of usefull answers where people have given there time to  answer a question and yet still get a thumbs down.  It seems to me like they they are giving a negative reponse to the user rather than to the questionanswer.  People will always have different opinions but it would make it  alot more usefull for other users epecially now as they hide -3 vote answers if they have to reply for the reason why they dont agree.

If I wasn't too lazy to care about giving thumbs down (think I've passed out four the entire time), I get too easily distracted so by the time I wrote out the reason, I'd forget to down vo.... oh look a bird.

It doesn't really matter who gives a thumb down in my opinion. Unless the answer is truly bad, it usually doesn't get more than one thumbs down anyway. Most people read all of the answers regardless. It doesn't affect points. Who cares?

Some people are friggin nuts. Like when Phil made that post about legionaire's and it immediately got a thumbs down. What the flippin flip?

However, the thumbs-down abusers are such idiots most of the people who have been here for a while stop taking them seriously.

philbravery:

thanks mate I used to get the shits with the thumbs downer and we all have a fair idea who it is. but im over it. I can be just as big an asshole as the next person so it was probly payback for some smart ass comment or poor attempt of humour on my part at some time. all in all you guys a great play mates and I like to play.here but again thanks for the support

When I give a thumbs down, I usually add a comment though I may not specify "I gave you a thmbs down" for the most part. Seems kind of childish, but I do feel that if I do give a thumbs down I ought to give an explanation. If I am not willing to comment, then i dont give a thumbs down. But that is just me.
