Q: Do you use Weibo as a source of finding trending Chinese news stories?

All the major scandals seem to break on Weibo so how many of you are clued in and actually get the juicy stories right from the source?

i use news sources from different countries to get different perspectives on things. Other than China Daily (like any other national news source, it is biased) i don't read other online Chinese newspapers. I take everything i read online with a pinch of salt. But I will watch to see if anyone can suggest how to use Weibo.

I do, but my wife usually hears about it first, and tells me all about it. Then I look at weibo later and tell her all about it, and she complains that I never listen to her.

My wife almost always listen the news first from me  And I do not use chinese sources, except this site

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
