Q: Do you usually cook or eat out while you are in China?
A lot of foreigners do not cook much and usually just eat out in Shanghai. Heard they say food is cheap here and they don't want to cook.
Most Chinese cook as much as they can to save every rmb they can.
How about you?
I usually 'cook in', and 'eat out'-side. I have balcony. Does that qualify?

if someone likes chinese food then eat out as its cheaper. but if thats not the case, the cooking is the way to go as no one here have an authentic western meal for a reasonable price.
Thats why I cook. tastier, healthier and fun
I love cooking, I cook most of the time, I have a fully furnished kitchen with oven, microwave, toaster, all sorts of kitchenware, etc... heck I even have a takoyaki machine in there, tons and tons of ingredients in the freezer or on the shelves, good food is the best thing in the world, and since I live on the top floor I have access to a small rooftop terrace, so that means BBQ party when the weather is nice and friends are off work.
The more I see the oily bottoms of bowls in restaurants, the more I cook myself. A bit more expensive, but at least there is more meat in my food and I am sure where it comes from.
honestly, i ve never met a chinese guy who can cook. That being said that if you are a tourist, then yeah, you eat outside but as an expat, considering the hygienic standards outside, more than a sandwitch I wont dare to eat
I always eat out in China...so many girls and such little time.
