Hi, guys, I am studying English right now and even I go to training school every day, I still feel I dont have enough chance to practice English and get to know more about other cultures. I wonder if any of you would like to know China better or learn manderine. As a Chinese who lives in Shanghai now, I can still help u deal with some problems (like renting an apartment, talk to your landlord) and guide you tour the city. All I want is to practice English and get to know your country. If any of you wants to make a friend with me or have any questions about China, pls feel free to contact me. My E-mail address is 392680738@qq.com. I am looking forward to your response.

ECC posters are spread all over China and might be a bit thin on the ground in Shanghai. It might be better to use a website more local to your location.
Not to say this is not a good place to try of course.
Good luck

ScotsAlan is right, you will get a better response with Shanghai expat websites. They are people in your area probably looking for the same thing you are.
Join the websites and participate in some of the activities they have going on.

Hello Simile, you are unlikely to find many people on this site. I would recommend (www.interpals.net). It is designed for language partners/exchange.0
I charge 200rmb per hour for online tutoring. You can find many free tutors but the smart good ones will charge you.
SIMILE:
actually, I spent more on a training school. But I barely have time to have an one-on-one class, and I feel I dont learn much from the school.
Englteachted:
For some reason Chinese students are unwilling to pay a foreign teacher for private tutoring but will pay a school a ton of money to learn nothing.
Instead of insulting people (foreigners are people too) by saying you want a foreign friend (for the purpose of getting free lessons) and be an honest consumer and search for an English tutor.
SIMILE:
I think you are right, in a way. I did make a mistake. But how did you find your teacher?
Englteachted:
Check classified sections of this site and other classified sites.
you should try some "english corners" at local universities, they never check whether you are a student at the school anyway, i have had kids from 6 different universities come to our weekly english corner when i worked for a university.
SIMILE:
thanks, but the thing is most teachers in China they dont point out your mistakes if he or she coulld understand you , but I want to be an ENglish teacher one day, So I want to express precisely .
No.
There red are many foreigners in Shanghai, all you have to do is go outside and look.
Let me practice my English and i will help you with sundry things ......
The offer sounds more like barter than friendship !!
According to your comment to ambivalentmace you really are looking for free English lessons ...
Well, I assume the Chinese saying goes something like: 'There is no free lunch'
Anyway - you can also learn from some Chinese girls, become a bit tricky and find yourself a foreign girlfriend.
In your case you shall limit them just to native speakers but that would be far the most efficient way how to learn English cheaply - even cheaper than having a 'normal' Chinese girlfriend as foreing girls will not require to pay for them as much as Chinese do.
The weak point is it may be a bit difficult finding a girl who will not notice your real intention, of course unless you are extremally charming guy - then no trouble ...
I am sorry, you guys, I may write a wrong topic title. My intention is to exchange our skills, and learn something from each other. I do want to get some free English classes, but I dont mean I dont want to pay anything. I just think that some people who are from English-speaking countries may still want some help in China, and I can offer the help to them for free. SO I dont think I am asking for a free lunch.
