suspect his leftist stuff and attempt to calm some fears and maybe some irrational rightist fun stuff took it's toll. I want to see the back and forth some more ... nothing personal.
BRING HIM BACK

Ahoy there maties. It be making next to no difference if the scott cometh of goeth.
He tried to broadside a few users in surprise attacks and the bording parties failed to get their hooks in the rigging. The wee lass limped out on the ebb tide with his corsair needing a refit. Methinks he be still muttering and cursing into his meade in some obscure tavern.
cub:
yeah.skeppo, u been out in the sun too long swabbing the deck on your skooner/dingy?
Skeppo:
Argh, seems a couple of cabin boys twere seen sobbing on the mizen deck about shoals of sharks 'ave become welps themselves. Tis some amusement to be had. Mayhap i ken spare thee a fine kerchief to wipe the tears of do as i say not as i do from ye spyglass
cub:
Nah, Skeppo, us two cabin boys are tired of walking the plank. Besides the captain always has the bad case of scurvy!
Given that Scots was a VERY active contributor to this forum, and was one of the VERY few who publicly acknowledges a) when he's wrong, and b) that an argument has swayed him to change his mind, I think he should return.
His politics may not be everyone's flavour (obviously), but his posts were rarely boring. And, they tended to be quite well thought-out (when they weren't drunken rants late at night ) and well-informed.
While he was made a mod, probably for his pro-China stance, I think his moderation was indeed quite moderate (not surprising for a liberal who doesn't agree with censorship).
Interesting (well, boring actually) that the only forum members who went up against him as a mod were those who constantly broke the rules. Those who don't like Scot's politics didn't have any axe to grind with him.
So, Scots - if you're out there reading this.... come on back and start posting again (before midnight )
(I also note - Scots hasn't created sock-puppets to big-note himself... arrrrr).
(4 downvotes coming in 3... 2...... 1........)

yeah I didn't agree with scots politics and I think he views china with a thick pair of rose colored glasses but I always thought he was a smart guy and a valuable contributor.
Honestly I catch myself doing this on facebook where I want to unfollow (though never unfriend) someone because I disagree with them but decide not to. It's important even if you don't agree with someone to at least see what the other viewpoints are. So as long as people aren't directly posting propoganda or something I gotta leave em up.
I guess because i'm not very political myself or someone who jumps on board "causes" maybe everyone who is seems a little loony to me. But that's fine. Takes all kinds.
scotsxit was a dissapointing thing to happen to Ecc.
A big reason i lost interest to post too.
Scots and his positiveness can be used during a time like this.
It's a free world, well, parts of it are kinda free. If he wants to come or go then that's his business. If your feelings are easily hurt then the internet is not the place for you.

All true statements, but none of them have anything to do with the topic.
I remember when I joined this site, Scots was the dude who said welcome and encouraged me to keep posting... I thought that was cool of him.
I miss his posts, he bought a lot to ECC I think but if he has decided he doesn't want any part of the stupid shit that goes on, I don't blame him at all.
I will say though, I feel like ECC has been a better place recently. People are being more respectful to each other. Not saying that's anything to do with Alan not posting, just that it's good to see.
