I've asked several times to no avail nobody had an answer for it. I tried explaining that a shopping mall was a place for you to go shopping. Named a few stores to give them the idea what it was, but still nothing..is this word not known or used at all here?
Same with the students that I teach. They do understand the concept, however, but mine just don't use the word. If they speak Chinese, they use work-around words. If they speak English, they just generally tend to name the kind of store.
not known by my students; neither is 'grocery store' or 'groceries'. They use supermarket. Grocery store is more common where i live. and pee and poo and bum
Actually, I think you mean "words" (plural) or "lexical item" because it is more than one word.
