Q: Does any one know of someone who was extradited because they had a fake Foreign Expert Certificate?
There has been a spat of articles indicating a crackdown on illegal foreign workers. Esp teachers. We have all heard about the fake documents used sometimes. Many schools like to keep the FEC. I am thinking that they do this because the FEC is a fake.

NOOO, technically the FEC is yours, but the school keeps it handy incase a police check should happen.. Do you really want to carry it and risk losing it? Worrying about your passport is enough if you ask me.

my first school held onto the FEC and honestly i didn't care too much. they never used it against me and i never needed it. now my university gives it to me, and honestly i almost lost it twice! of course you can get a replacement, but its expensive. besides, a school faking your resume or degree is one thing, making a fake Chinese doc, i think, would have more severe repercussions for the school.

Visit any Bank, and try to open new account. Your passport is not enough. You must show your FEC, too.

A fake FEC? This is a new one on me even for around here. The PSB routinely varies the FEC during visa processing and conversations between the PSB and the FEB happen all the time. Additionally, the FEB database is available to the PSB -- it's just a mouse click away.
