Q: Does anybody know of any dog friendly restaurants in Guangzhou that have an outdoor area ?
Looking for somewhere to have a lazy Saturday or Sunday extended lunch where I can take a dog, a very small one !
Most restaurants can keep your dog in the back while you eat, but they don't seem to keep a good eye on the dogs and they have been known to go missing.
There are lots of dog friendly restaurants in Guangzhou. Especially in the Panyu area. You can bring your dog and the kind staff will skin him, cook him and serve him for a minor "corking" fee.
Oh, wait... You probably don't want to eat your dog, do you? The small ones have too high of a bone to meat ratio anyway.
Animals, that won't be making an appearance on a plate, aren't normally allowed in Chinese restaurants for health reasons. And you know how the Chinese get about the cleanliness of their restaurants.
mArtiAn:
Absolutely. Dogs in restaurants are frowned upon or chewed upon but i've never come upon a restaurant owner who allowed dogs as guests. Though I did once come upon a restaurant owner as she chewed on my dog, but that's another story.
It appears China is moving away from allowing animals everywhere. Two years ago I would frequently see people carrying a tank of water with fish, a cage of chickens etc, on the city busses. This is not allowed anymore. The bus staff will not even allow dogs that are in bags designed for the purpose. You can spit on the floor but you cannot bring your clean and healthy dog.
Maybe it'd be better if you took your pet to the park and just had a picnic there? And if you're thinking you don't want to cook, go to your fave place and order the things you like to go (add a nice steak or something for your pooch ).
Can people PLEASE not bring their pets in restaurants? It's extremely inconsiderate towards the other customers. Restaurants are for people, not dogs who bark loudly every 20 second.
