I just got word that my school is shutting down for the next two days for it. I was told by the school that they dept of education canceled classes because the other weather related shit that has happened this summer, better safe than sorry must be what they are thinking.
I dont think it will be bad everywhere, but probably in a few places. Last year we had one day canceled bc of a typhoon, and then it turned out to be a beautiful, calm, sunny day. We will just see what happens this year
Well it is expected to hit Shanghai tomorrow. I would advise staying indoors or somewhere safe. Dont think the chinese will play it up as they have warned prior and moving citizens to safer ground.
It depends on how strong it is. The typhoon that went through Nanning about a month ago was a low level Typhoon and about an hour before it hit Nanning it was downgraded to a tropical storm. To be honest, I didn't even notice, it just seemed like another summer storm.
Google (other search engines available) "typhoon NAME track" and check the advice.
In Changsha, we don't have to worry about typhoons. Overall air quality is our main concern. Oh, and strange looking food. And bad water. Can't forget about that. And of course, gutter oil. Ummm...and maybe about crazy traffic. Especially if you are driving in it.
Typhoons? Naw, they never reach this far. I hope.
don't worry every year around this time they say the typhoon will come but never came.
We're getting it pretty good right now in Ningbo. Strong winds, periods of super heavy rain. The worst has supposedly yet to hit....can't wait.
check this adres in case of typhoons: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

but real strike can be stronger
Saomai was once predicted as category 2 or 3 but real strike over the land (similar line) was about 5 over
MMW, I was in Ningbo, when there was Saomai, some years ago. In Ningbo was only some wind and rain, but do You remember how many people died at the south of province?
it can come everyday if you don't use condoms.............
