The public basketball courts you mean the one you don't have to pay to play. THe only one's like that would be around an apartment complex. If it's in the apartment complex you can play for free. Other than that it's gonna be a private basketball court. That's how it is!

ummm how can you play basketball if your blind??? There are basketball courts freaking everywhere man. every community or school or park. Ask any chinese person near your house ( not foreigners) and they can find you ten or more.  Next time your walking around, quit searching for spare change  and look up. youll see them.

why even take the time to make a reply like that?

I'm interested to find some good courts. Yes there are courts everywhere but many are filled with kids or the talent of the players is so low its not fun. So where is the best place to play?

Go to a public school middle or highschool they always have basketball courts there. I don't think they lock the gates so you could probably just shoot some hoops and play some b-ball with your friends there. Ahhhh....what a day!

Anyone know where there are some decent pick up games? Don't really want to play against middle schoolers.

I found a few places. Shenzhen University has an outdoor court. Go to the metro of the same name and take exit c. Its right around the corner a bit, just ask someone there. One problem is that there may be a organized game going in which case you can't play. If you can speak chinese maybe you can call and ask for a schedule.

Another option is to go to hou hai and exit A. Its a bit of a walk but there is a sports complex that has maybe 10 courts with lots of people playing at the evening and night.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
