Q: Does anyone else think the point system here is like the game apple to apples?

I mean the way people reword points is like the game some people reword points on how good they think the answer is or just how funny it is. I have said some stupid stuff and gotten points and I have said some smart stuff and not gotten points and vice versa I am not complaining or call it stupid. It just occurred to me that it is a bit similar and was wondering if anyone else was thinking the same thing that’s all I have no problems with the system.

How does that compare to apples to apples? Maybe I played the game wrong, but the way I played, the person picks them by what they thought was funnier. Ok, the points you give others can be like a popularity contest, but I still don't understand what you mean.

If "points" awarded here are important to you, then your question is one of relevance.  Maybe the best solution, when you have a question, is to submit to Admin Cat an email with your concern, and I am pretty sure he/she will answer you within a couple of days.

But there are others here who could not care less about the point system, and do answer questions to share experiences and with a genuine concern for helping others.  If two points are given, or four (before), or no points awarded because you exceeded already 10 answers, makes no difference.

In my case, I do not care for any of the rewards offered, so the number of points is of no consecuence to me.  I get my kicks and rewards out of reading the answers of some  of the wise ones posting here, and many times they brighten my day with their wit.

If you are really interested in learning more about the points, there have been oodles of questions asked concerning the points given. All you have to do is search "points" in this page's/site's search bar above. You'll find all kinds of questions and answers, including questions concerning all the serial thumb downers.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
