Q: Does anyone have the Barnes & Noble Nook eReader?

I was thinking about bringing one back, but I didn't know if I would be able to easily pay for new books. Any experience?

I use a Kindle here.  A fantastic gadget. Much easier than searching for books in English.

No problem buying and downloading books on my UK bank account.

But now my bank account is closed..... Can still use a Chinese Visa card tho. I think.

i also have a Kindle

Amazon has free books to down-load - you'll find plenty to choose from

also try Gutenberg.org for free books - although a lot older

Yeah. I tend to read the old classics, so my Kindle is fully loaded with a few " complete works"

I have to agree, my kindle is the best money that I have ever spent. As I don't have credit card, it is often difficult to buy the books I want so I have adapted to China. Search for torrents of anything I want

i have the nook app for my tablet and phone...works pretty well just link it to a credit card and you're good to go.

nice thing it keeps your page place on different devices...so if i'm reading on the train in the morning I can read at home at night.

I bet kindle is pretty much the same, both are probably excellent choices.

One thing to keep in mind if you already have a phone with a big enough screen or a tablet you don't need to buy new hardware. Doesn't matter what brand, just download the app and you're all set. Unless you want the e-paper ones...and those are cool but it's one more thing to carry/worry about.
