Q: Does anyone have some Chinese music suggestions?

Most of the stuff I've been exposed to is rubbish but I'm sure there must be some good bands and singers out there. Any recommendations?

Depends on what your into
the styles vary just as much as they do in your home country
Myself I will lissen to a mixed CD  of pop and maybe I will like 1 or 2 songs that I will down load to my mp3 or phone.
just dont borrow anything from my in-laws unless you like Chinese Operasurprise

Wang Fei, Jay Jo...Jay Chou...JAY JAY (He co-stared in The Green Hornet), Rainie Yang though many hate her because of some thoughtless remarks, S.H.E., Wang Li Hom (especially the duet with Selina where they sing You are the Song in My Heart).  IS any7one going to help and correct my terrible pin yin?

I would say you're probably better off with pop music from Taiwan. Jay Chou, Wang LiHom. I also like a girl group called Misster. If you still haven't found something, keep trying. Chinese music is getting better.

That depends on which genre of music you prefer. If you like indie-rock, I would recommend Hedgehog, http://site.douban.com/hedgehog/. If you like folk, you could listen to Zhou Yunpeng, http://site.douban.com/zhouyunpeng/.
