Q: Does anyone know a bank in Hong Kong we can open an accout with even though working in China?
Hi
Does anyone know IF there is a bank that we can open accounts in Hong Kong with. All the online info is too basic.
Hopefully someone here has opened an account there before.

Any of them and you don't need a HK address. Just use proof of address in the mainland and a passport. I bank with Hang Seng but they all follow basically the same rules. The only things that foreigners cannot do is obtain any form of credit (they will not do that without a HK identity card) and deposit/move renminbi (you can send CNYbut you will have to exchange to HKD or other foreign currency).

many americans retired in china use a business card from the mainland and a passport to open a bank of china account in hong kong for their social security direct deposit, bank of china in the mainland does not have the ability or concern to arrange direct deposit.

many banks provide online bankin' accounts (but need an hk address for record).
hsbc is biggest. see hsbc.com . simple to opn personal acc wth a single visit to their br.

Thats been the hard part, HK address. I'll try Kaiwen's way, I have bills in my name in China with the address. I'll let everyone know that results.
