Q: Does anyone know how to set up a wireless network using China Telecom PPPoE?

I recently had China Telecom set up my internet for my apartment but they no longer offer assistance for installing a wireless network. I have a wireless router but I cannot figure out how to install it. In order for me to access the internet through my DSL modem I must enter a username and password to log on to the PPPoE...

Does anyone have any helpful tips how to set it up so I can have continual internet access? I live with another person and currently only one of us can use the internet through a wired connection.

HELP!

every router has a setup web page.  For example:  192.094.001.   The web address will be located in your instruction manual.   Then you can use your browser to setup your router.  enter your username and password on the appropriate lines, choose a security protocol and you are in business.

Xpat.John:

The normal default page for a router is normally 192.168.0.1. If you are just using the typical wireless modem/router that came from your ISP, the option to put in your PPPoE info probably won't exist. At least it doesn't with mine.

However, if you get a normal router like Linksys, Cisco or such, you should be able to go into the settings and enter all of your PPPoE info so you don't have to bother with it ever again. You would just need to teach your computer once the password to your router, and you are up and running with ease.
