Q: Does anyone know if the Verizon iPhone 4 can be set up with China Telecom?

Hello! I have a Verizon iPhone 4 with me and I was cuious if anyone knows how I would be able to use this phone as my cell phone here. The Verizon iPhone does not use a SIM card, which is causing me some doubts. China Telecom has said that they were able to unlock the phone and have it run on their CDMA network. I have been going around (San Hao Jie) where a nice employee of a self run China Telecom store told me to talk to the Business Center of the China Telecom located in Teixi. He mentioned something about burning a number to the phone. I was wondering if anyone else has done this or has any information on how I could get my Verizon iPhone connected to China Telecom. Thank you in advance.

Just take the advice of the professional. If they tell you it can be done then it can be done. It doesn't seem so complicated! They will give you a local number so you can use your phone and then you can call or do whatever.

Well it can be done, you just have to reprogram to phone to do the exact opposite of what Verizon programmed it to do.  You'll have to trust the guy doing it not to permently mess any thing up or and any unwanted programs onto it.  And you have to pray nothing ever goes wrong with the phone because the warrenty will be null and void.
