During a recent flight, I just happened to sit next to an Starbuck's executive and I did ask him exactly the same question.  His reply was "Nanning in particular I do not know now, but during 2012 our goal is to open 500 new franchises in China".
It does not share much light, but at least tells me that Nanning is consideed, and a bunch of new stores will be opening in the next 12 months.

I have lived in Nanning for 1 1/2 years and I do know there is a Starbuck's in a new shopping center they opened in September of last year. It is called MixC.

I know of our in Nanning already, one in MixC shopping mall, a second a couple of blocks east of there behind the new building with the red roof, one at the Admiral City mall, and one in the city centre a short walk from the Nanning hotel. There probably are more but they are just the ones I know.

you should rather be asking when someone will open a store that will provide good coffee at reasonable prices. Starbucks is OK, but you can get better coffee for half the price.

Note. Starbucks is usually sold as franchises like most other international chains, and the franchise owner will typically get an entire city/district, so if there is one Starbucks you can be sure there will be another (or 10)

A:Can a new employer help you? Possibly but it's really hard to say for sure. I used to be involved in hiring new teachers and a couple of times we had people we wanted to hire who were having trouble with their old school - situations similar to yours. Our school was legally able to hire foreign teachers, did everything by the book and was well connected, usually schools that mess people around with visa stuff aren't operating legally so a call from our visa guy to theirs telling them they were breaking the law, we were in the middle of processing the visa stuff with the PSB and the next phone call they got regarding this teacher was likely to be from the PSB asking some hard questions was usually enough to get them to co-operate. No school doing illegal stuff wants the PSB getting too interested in what they're doing. There's a chance a new employer could figure something out if they really want to hire you but these are difficult times, their hands might be tied too.    -- Stiggs
