I am a archaeologist looking to extend my 3 month tourist visa. I would like to work in a museum or as an archaeologist.

Find a university that have research arms into ancient history in China. Chinese university you will have little to no chance of being picked up. Best to try back home.

No, you have to call him, didn't you read his whole post?
Really, I wish posts containing contact information would be deleted.
Admin anyone? Oh... right.
You guys don't get it. "Medieval archeologist", you're in the wrong part of the world buddy.
medieval? you do realize you are in china?!? i guess geography isn't a prerequisite for medieval archeology majors...
The Chinese Academy of Science funds foreign post-docs, around 10000 RMB/months for one year. This fund is not that hard to get but you will need to find a Chinese lab to sponsor your application

I've been funded one year this way, it went without a itch. You don't have to do any teaching, just pure research.
Thanks for those who answered. Its not that medieval archaeology is all I do. I have done ancient American Archaeology, Medieval Archaeology and Historical Archaeology. So thatnks for the sarcasm and for honest answers.
Unfortunatley you have already been beaten by Indiana Jones who traded the remains of Nurhachi, First Emperor of Manchu Dynasty with some guys.
YOU need an ancient map! If you could find one that shows all of the world used to be part of China you'll be hailed as a hero, and will have more women and dirty money than you could use in a lifetime.
