I have a dear friend whose oldest brother (51 years of age) on a recent Friday afternoon left work but never arrived home, His family, very concerned, started looking for him, and finally found him dead inside his car. From the scene there, they think he hit a nearby tree, bounced off, and went down a small ravine, his car overturning 90 degrees and ending on the side (doors), He was inside dead. But no brake or skid marks on the road. Two weeks later, they do not know why he died? Is this normal in China?, Are autopsies required here to determine the cause of death ?.
All, I hear the family say these days is why did he died, so I told them to ask the Police, and they replied that he died in an accident. But why he lost control of car ?. Did someone cut in front of him ?. Did he had a heart attack ?. Was he sleeping while driving ?.
So, are autopsies done here ?

As a rule, autopsies are not performed here unless there are extreme circumstances. And in your case, the family would probably have to demand one and also pay all the related expenses.
I have known several cases where something 'odd' happened at a hospital and the result was someone's death. Before the family could demand an autopsy, the body was 'accidentally' cremated.

Accidentally for sure!
When one WANTS the body cremated in China, it is nearly impossible. The government requires a letter from the Embassy and the Embasssy refuses to provide it.
