Since I will not have a chance to see if I can make the Dalai Lama fall over laughing and convince him that I am to be his successor, maybe not. Even he said that the next Dalai Lama may be found outside Tibet and may be female or a really funny guy.

I would however like to try a flaming filet of yak. I hear there are no bones in it, but yak tastes like yuck.

@ 981, i don't care if you thumb down my posts, i just consider where it comes from, but maybe you should consider why you get so many.

The Dalai Lama said that the next Dalai Lama may be found outside Tibet because he is a politician, he knows full well there isn't snowballs hope in hell of the monks searching Tibet for his reincarnation so long as the CPC is still in power.

Not that I'm taking sides on this one. Religion sucks but so does imposed rule.

A little more for you Ted ...  food for thought In addition to the spiritual and musical support offered by the Dalai Lama to Guns N' Roses, unidentified sources now claim that the $13 million production cost of the Chinese Democracy project was secretly funded by the exiled Tibetan leader as well. Dalai Lama spokesperson, Ly Ing, has denied the charge. According to Ly Ing, the Dalai Lama has always supported the 'Middle Path' approach, and would never underhandedly manipulate the West into challenging or provoking the Chinese government or people through popular culture. "We never gave $13 million to Axl Rose to produce Chinese Democracy. That $13 million was strictly donated to promote spiritual development and pay off old drug debts," explained a smiling Ly Ing. Axl Rose, who has recently changed his name to Axl Lotus, seems eager to put the controversy over his Chinese Democracy album behind him. "Like a prayer wheel, life must move on when touched by a hand or the wind," said Axl, a little incensed. "Our new band, Guns N' Lotus, is now working on a totally new concept. It's tentatively titled 'Middle Path to Lhasa via Beverly Hills'. Dr Pepper has pledged to give a free soft drink to every Chinese person if we release it by 2025. See you then."

Actually wouldn't mind. Tried to organise something last summer but there were some restrictions in place and you needed to have enough people to make a reasonable sized tour party. My ideal would be to go by train from Harbin (or a train from anywhere) but I am happy to listen to some other ideas.

A group of us Canadians are thinking of going.  It is easier for a group to go and from one country to make things easier, i heard.  We may look for more Canadians if that fits the bill for our tour.  I think we only need 6 people.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
