Q: Does a Chinese realtor need a license?

Does a Chinese realtor need a license in order to work legally in this business?
I know back home they need...

And if yes, I was just wondering if a foreigner can get that too?!

The actual realtors do not need a license.  They get their training from the company they work for.

However, the actual companies need a special license to sell/rent real estate.  It is very hard to get and very expensive.

A foreigner can work for any of the real estate companies, but the ones that I know of develop relationships with several real estate companies and then work on a freelance basis for a partial commission (and whatever they can get out of the foreigner who uses them).

Most of the agents who have an educational back ground in real estate will have a license but to be honest they can work of the companies license. I know a few expats who do real estate but the commission is terrible

A:My friends who are managing schools still can't recruit from outside of China because of the borders being closed, as far as I know that doesn't look like it's going to change anytime soon. If you have a current existing residence permit etc you can re-enter the country, going through the usual quarantine process obviously but no new visas are being issued. I don't know about business visas but I suspect it wouldn't be much different. For up to date info you could probably contact the Chinese embassy in your country. -- Stiggs
